    Lightning and Cows:


    On the 31st of October in 2005, a single bolt of lightning killed sixty eight cows on a farm near Dorrigo in Australia, and three cows were paralyzed. Happily all three made a complete recovery.


    So then why are there so many cow deaths caused by lightning?
    One theory is that they graze in the open and in fields. The other theory is that they have all four hooves on the ground when they ear the grass from where the electricity could be conducted.


    On the 15th of June, 2009, sixteen cows were killed on a farm in Pencaitlan, Scotland.


    On the 23 rd October, 2008 fifty two cows were killed on a farm outside Montevideo in Uruguay; they were killed when they were grazing alongside a wire fence.
