Dogs and Cats For Pets
Comments OffPets have a way of winning you over, making them difficult to resist – we are talking about puppies and kittens. But think this through carefully. Before you decide to take a dog or cat home think of the implications.
Boredom often sets in once the animals grows into an adult dog or cat, or the dog might grow larger than you thought or you might even find that once a relationship between two partners breaks up, the pet is sometimes left with nowhere to go.
It is really important to take some points into consideration:
Time and money is one factor to take into account. Puppies need to go for training, they need to be exercised and they require expensive treatment such as their vaccinations every year, they need to be de-flead, dewormed and remember that pet food is also expensive.
Did you know that fleas lead to your dog getting tape worm?
The novelty of a new dog or cat wears off as soon as the responsibility kicks in. Little children are not responsible to take care of pets on their own. Pets are generally time-consuming; therefore if you are strapped for time, then rather get a pet when you can spare time to take care of your animal properly. It is never a clever idea to get a pet when your children are little or if you are expecting a baby.
Always take into account how large the dog is going to grow and also how good the breed will be with children if you have little ones.
Most dogs enjoy having a companion, but consider this carefully before introducing a new pet into your home.
Strong dogs need training if you are going to consider getting a guard dog.
